The Flower Among Weeds
This picture was taken in the back yard. The "jungle" at the time. Our lawn mower had been broken and in the shop for 2 weeks and in TN it doesn't take long for the grass to grow out of control. One morning my girls came running in wanting me to come see what they had discovered. This lone flower standing tall above all the other knee high grass. I had seen it out the kitchen window the day before, but I let them enjoy their discovery and got plenty of pictures.

Kaleidoscop Page
Friday, June 27, 2008
Well, I finally have made time for myself. Over the past 3 days I've gotten 4 pages done. This first is of Eve and her wonderful choice of clothes for that day. We went to the Jean's to play and she found a sword and shield hence my warrior princess.

These other 3 layouts are also of Eve and her "Princess" Birthday Party. It took me 2 days to get these done. I'm rather pleased with all the layouts since I haven't scrapped in 2 at 2 months and it takes a while to get back into the groove.

Martina Concert
O.k. Those of you who know anything about country music know that Martina McBride is the best female vocal. Sunday April 20, I with my 4 sisters and good good friend Dani got to go to Huntsville, AL and see her in concert. It was FANTASTIC. She has a huge voice and range and she gave a great show. (the first song in my play list here on my blog is Martina)
Opening for her were Jack Ingram and another of my favorite bands "Little Big Town" A group of 2 guys 2 girls and there harmony is awesom. I've seen them I think 3 times now and they are always great.
Other than a grouchy couple behind us who didn't want us standing up,(a hello...it's a concert...if you want to sit and listen to music go home and put the cd in. The guy never cracked a smile or clapped his hands. I think is wife drug him there. He even made a very rude comment to Kimberly) The whole night was a ball.
Cant wait to scrap book and journal the whole event. It was fun to be out with my sisters.

TIME
This layout is the result of a "Word" challenge on Feeling Scrappy. Really you guys you have to go there. It is way fun, and lots of cool ways to get those creative juices flowing. It is my first stop when I sit to scrap so I can get some ideas. Antway. The word for the month of April is "Time". I thought for about a week trying to decide how to play the Word Time in my Tittle. I started thinking about all the things I spend time on, and when it came down to it I spend ALL my time raising kids. It takes time, that is for sure. For the past 8 years I have been nourishing and cultivating these little minds. My oldest is going to be 9 this year. I'm almost half way with him. WOW!! That was kind of wierd to think of that. Anyway, I like how the layout turned out.
The pictures of the kids are just extras I had. The clock was some printed paper and I just cut the clock out. and the Lettering I used my cricut and chip board. The time line was just made with a pen and ruler.

Wild Thing
My latest Page is an embellishment challenge sketch for a guest designer spot for the month of May on Feeling Scrappy. I need to get the rest of the stuff together and send it on to Feeling Scrappy's site and we'll see what happens. The pictues are of Eve and Amelia from Feb 2005. They were on my bed with the safari like print. I think the page turned out really cool. I like it. I hope it is what they were looking for in embellishments. I will be able to post the layout after they choose a winner.
My New Scrapbook Toy

Here it is my newest scrapping companion. Her name is Cricut. I was able to buy it from a friend slightly used. She reduced the price and then I payed her half and we bartered the rest in piano lessons. Her daughter is one of my students and she will be starting back after school is out. SOOOOOOO, I have had a ball getting to know my new friend. Now I will have to keep my eyes pealed for clearanced cartridges. I have scrapped several layouts and used my Cricut. Also my almost 4 year old daughter Eve has become a scrapper. She completed her first page last weekend. I have a picture of her holding her page but it is on the other computer. I will try to put it on here another day. She is starting young.

Slow weekend for Scrapping
Well I didn't get very much scrapping done this weekend. I just finished up my Legacy of Faith Layout. I think it is week 3's challenge on Prayer. I hope it will load up in this post. If not I'll attach it down at the bottom. I'm also going to go work on a challenge for the Guest Creative Team Member from Feeling Scrappy. They are choosing a guest team member towards the end of the month to help with all the cool things they do at Feeling Scrappy. To much to go into. Go visit the site if you are interested (the link is on the side). We also have a forum for the Legacy of Faith now. Where you can see the weekly topics and postings of what others did with the topics. Check it out!! Lot's of goodies out there.

Making up Packets
After finishing the sketch of Ethan's Easter last night I spent the rest of the time printing out more pictures and starting my packs. I'm putting my photos, paper, embelishment in a big zip lock bag to take to my parents house tomorrow. That way I only have to take minimal scrapping supplies with me. My church is having our Annual General Conference Where the leaders of our church speak, and it is broadcast on the Satelite so I can listen and work on some scrap book pages. I probably will work on my Legacy of Faith Layouts. I have several weeks to catch up on.
Handsome Little Devil
This layout is a SKETCH challenge from the feeling scrappy web site. (see the link on the side) It is Ethan's first Easter and he got a new outfit. I like the soft green with the bolder blue. It brought out the green and blue in his new shirt. He's showing off that cute smile and his new "Dud's" at Grandma and Grandpa's house

I'm On a Roll
I just finished another layout. Since I have access to the laptop(which is the only way I can post pictures in with my posts)I thought I'd go ahead and load it on. Ethan is about 5 months and is the only of my 4 kids that has sucked his thumb. There is journaling on the page it just didn't show up very good in the photo. Keep and eye out for more layouts. I'm ON A ROLL and enjoying every minute
p.s. Since I uploaded it to the lap top I didn't have a program to crop the picture/layout.
Legacy of Faith
This idea came from another scrapping buddy. I am in love with this idea. As important as it is to caputure and scrap our families and thier growing up and special events, how even more important to leave them a book of my own faith and experiences. I'm excited to do a book about me and leave to my children my testimony, experiences, advice and on and on. I hope it will be something they can refer back to when I am gone and gain strenghth from their mother "who Knew". If you are interested in creating a Legacy of Faith go to the link on the side.
Below is my double layout to begin my Legacy of Faith.

Crop Party
Last Friday we had a crop at my house. There are about 4-5 of us that used to get together once a month, but since the beginning of the year have not been able to. So Friday was a long time coming. I really looked forward to it. Everyone who was invited came and even Cay brought a friend. It was a BLAST. I only got 3 pages done. Not everyone stayed but some of us scrapped till 2a.m. I really enjoy that time. Then Monday Hobby Lobby had a BIG 50% off in their scrapbooking. Chris gave me a budget and I took it and ran. I will post some pictures of my new pages and my goodies later. A friend is borrowing my camera at the moment.

I FINALLY Scrapped!!!
Well after months of no scrapbook pages, I finally made time for my self. I used the March Sketch Challenge from Feeling Scrappy to wet my whistle again. I like the way it turned out. I didn't have to think to much. Tomorrow is a crop night at my house (hopefully everyone will remember)so maybe I will get some more done. The danger with crops as you all know is that you do more talkin than scrappin.

Still no time to scrap
At this point I can't even get to my scrapping area. We've had some renovations done in the laundry room and master bath and stuff is piled in front of my space. Sigh!! The projects are nearing and end and they are turning out great. I've taken pictures every step of the way. So when I can get to my stuff I'll definately have things to scrap about.

My s are still battling, but hopefully the end is near. I got some scrapping supplies in the mail that I had ordered from scrapbook.com. I'm anxious to use them so I need to get busy. Hope you haven't missed me to badly.

Bobcat Badge
I did this layout last Thursday I think. It was a sketch challenge from feeling scrappy. I think this was the fastest page I've ever done. It took me about 20 minutes to do. At first I wasn't sure I liked it. But it has grown on me. I like the nice straight lines and no fussiness on it. I'm not used to have extra space on most of my pages. Anyway, hopefully this will help me get out of my creative slump.

I'm stuck
I started a layout Saturday and just did not like it. I had not glued anything down and went back to some sketches, thinking that it might help. Still not done. I've lost my mojo. I cleaned up my spot today and put that away and maybe will come back to it after I complete somthing else. Bummer!! I hope I get my mojo back soon.

This page turned out really nice. I put all the flowers on from some stickers I got from Dollar Tree today. I made the swirly's with my glaze pens. And of coarse the chip board for the title. We won't live in this house forever so I wanted it scrapped. We've been here 3 years I think. This is our 2 home we've purchased and it is a little big bigger than our first, so maybe our next one will be just right. I only wish the picture was in the summer when there was greenery.

Gingerbread House
Noah's Gingerbread House he made at school. He had a lot of fun creating his yummy house. When he brought it home he wanted to eat all the goodies off of it, but I said no. So we kept it for decortation for a couple of weeks then threw it away. This page took me a long time to do last night. I had seen and idea in a magazine and was going to use it. After spending all the time creating the design, I decided it didn't work with this layout and ended up with this.

Dress up a Picture Frame

This frame I got from the Dollar Tree. I had some cute art cut outs so I glued them to the outside of the frame. I also used a glaze pen to write name and date on the frame. This is such and easy way to dress up a frame. You can hot glue items like legos, baby pins, flowers etc. What ever the photo calls for. Give it a try on your next photo frame.

The last few layouts
The "Sleep,Baby,Sleep" Layout is precious to me since it has my cutie Ethan. I changed the photo to sepia and used a 5x7 photo in a www.feelingscrappy.com weekly challenge. It was a color challenge using blue and brown. The big ribbon on the corner of the photo I took off of a package of flannel blankets. I just put the date of the picture. I didn't think any other journaling was necessary. The picture speaks for it's self.
The "He Is Here" layout turned out really good. Simple, but I really like it. I really liked the whole look and didn't want to break it up with a lot of writing. I put the journaliing on the back of the page. My friend Trudy and I made some challenges for ourselves, one being to use an arrow on a page. I chose to use it on this page pointing to the new arrival. Since I didn't have one I made one. I later wnt back and put a date and place on the layout and journaled on the back.
That is one thing about my scrapping, it's pretty resourceful. Since buying scrapping supplies is a treat at best, I have to make all my stuff count. If I see something in a layout that I really like, I will try to make my own.
The Care Bear on the birthday page I also paper pieced and I think it turned out really cute too. Th cloud is also just a free handed die cut I did.
Th journaling I did in a white pen because I wanted it kept light.
Sometimes it makes scrapping one page very lengthy when you have to make your embelishments from scratch, but in the end I usually like those layouts the best because they are all me!

Back at it
Since before Christmas I couldn't find the time to scrap. To busy. But I am back at it and finished a page tonight. It is of Eve from a few years ago during Noah's soccer camp in July of 2005. Boy was it hot. I was a few months pregnant with Amelia too. After she got restless I found my sunglasses and she had fun playing with them. It kept her busy for a little while anyway. The layout was a weekly sketch challenge from feeling scrappy web site. Hope you like it.
